Franco Collavino today responded to comments made by Thiago Motta in his post-match media conference regarding the length of playing time in the 1-1 draw between Bologna v Udinese, which he claimed was “31 minutes”.
“We played for 56 minutes, not 31,” the managing director clarified. “The numbers quoted by the Bologna coach after the game are not real. The Lega Serie A's official match statistics show an effective playing time of 56 minutes and 18 seconds, which is in line with – actually slightly above – the average amount of effective playing time this season.
"In fact, our match had the fourth-highest effective playing time in this weekend's round of fixtures.
“In any case, we must remain focused on getting the points we need. I don't want to start a controversy but we should concentrate on real objectives and statistics and avoid sensationalistic remarks that are inappropriate and detrimental to our team.”
