Shirts up for auction in aid of Brazil

Proceeds will go to the victims of flooding

Disaster knows no bounds, speaks no language, and calls on everyone to lend their support. Udinese Calcio will not remain indifferent to the flooding of the Rio Grande do Sul, which is currently devastating Brazil. The club has decided to auction game jerseys from our next away match against Lecce on 13 May to raise funds for those affected by the floods. A dedicated patch will also be present inside the back of the shirt’s collar.

The jerseys will be made even more unique by the club’s participation in the Lega Serie A Mother’s Day initiative. On Matchday 36, in place of their surnames, Udinese players will wear their mother’s names on their backs. This will not only celebrate the bond between mother and son but will also make the shirts even more special for those who donate.

All proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be sent to the current account indicated by the Brazilian Embassy in Rome for the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Bidding will open at kick-off on 13 May and will close on 23 May. The shirts of all players selected for the Lecce game will be up for grabs and bids can be made at https://www.matchwornshirt.com/category/udinese.

Udinese has always been proud of its multiculturalism and the many Brazilian players that we have welcomed into our club. Walace and Brenner, both deeply affected by what is happening, are only the most recent examples of a history that has seen unforgettable players such as Samir, Marcio Amoroso and the legendary Zico.
