Kosta Runjaic and Thomas Kristensen addressed the media in the wake of Udinese's 2-0 win over Genoa on Friday evening. This is what they had to say:
Runjaic: “We struggled a lot in the first half and also in the second but we maintained our focus. We worked together and defended well. Genoa are an excellent team and [Daniele] De Rossi is doing a great job. Their forwards are very good and it was a very tiring game for our defenders. We expected this sort of game and knew we'd get chances on the break. We were a bit lucky too but that's part of football sometimes.
“At half time we tried to recover our energy and look at the positive side, which was the game was still goalless. We came back out ready to keep digging in and the fact it remained 0-0 probably gave us a small advantage. From our strikers through to [Maduka] Okoye, everyone defended well today in what was perhaps the most intense match we've played this season. They couldn't maintain that level of energy all game. In the end there were a few occasions where we could have done better on the counter but the lads did a brilliant job and we're delighted with the result.”
Kristensen: “We knew before coming here that this is a very difficult ground to play at and get points from. We found it really hard but we showed great team spirit and managed to keep a clean sheet. These are three huge points for us.”
